In the 4th expansion to the bestseller Carcassonne - the 2001 Game of the Year - construction reaches new heights. The influential lords of the land now build towers to strengthen their power and influence in the area. Their followers keep watch on the towers and notice anyone who comes too close. If an opposing follower is caught, they are taken captive. Captured followers can be returned home through a prisoner exchange. And if followers are truly scarce, captives can also be ransomed. In addition to new gameplay ideas that demand new tactics even from experienced Carcassonne players, this expansion includes a tower as a sturdy and atmospheric card dispenser that can be used for all Carcassonne games.
