In Great Western Trail, you take on the role of a cattle farmer. You repeatedly drive your herds of cattle from Texas to Kansas City, where you send them on their journey to the east coast by train. To earn money, you need to keep your herds in good condition and use the buildings along the way wisely. You should also hire capable staff: Cowboys to expand your herds, craftswomen to construct your own buildings and engineers to extend the railroad line.
Whoever takes good care of their herd and masters the opportunities and pitfalls of the cattle trail with clever timing will score the most points and win the game.
This second edition of the Wild West classic has a new design, double-layered player trays and new game material. There are also two new variants: the solo mode and the Simmental mode with additional game material.
